I had a marvelous time last night speaking about “Rosie the Riveter: Women Working on the Home Front in World War II” to the Wood-Ridge Historical Society in Wood-Ridge, NJ, location of a former Curtiss Wright factory that operated 24/7 during the war to produce airplane engines. The age range of the audience, included people who lived through the war years to 16-year old Allison (in the photo with me) who is planning to do a project to educate elementary school children about women’s indispensable contributions to the war effort. Hurrah for the richness of intergenerational connections & sharing!
