Hip, hip hurrah – – another landmark to women, a 6-foot bronze statue of a Rosie the Riveter, created by sculptor John Giannotti. Even after I’ve written a book, in this case Rosie the Riveter: Women Working on the Home Front in World War II, the topic is always in my heart and on my mind, so I was thrilled to visit this landmark to the millions of women who were vital, indispensable to winning World War II. It was dedicated June 19, 2012 in Wood-Ridge, NJ on the site of the former Curtiss-Wright plant that produce Wright Cyclone airplane engines. For more landmarks visit: www.pennycolman.com
