Statue to Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Exciting steps forward toward erecting a statue to Elizabeth Cady Stanton in Tenafly, NJ where she bought land & built a house in 1868 and lived until 1887.  On Nov. 2, 1880 she attempted to vote at a building that still stands.  Susan B. Anthony spent a great deal of time in the house (now in private hands) where they, along with Matilda Joslyn Gage, wrote the first volumes of the monumental History of Woman Suffrage. p.s. no I didn’t change the spelling of my last name; it is still spelled without an “e.”  Here is the link to a recent article about our efforts:  http://www.northjersey.com/news/170451416_Tenafly_commission_proposes_building_statue_to_honor_activists_Elizabeth_Cady_Stanton.html
